Paintings that capture emotion
I have only fairly recently immersed myself into the entrancing world of creativity, albeit I have always loved and felt mesmerised by the world of art. As soon as I began my own journey of creating, I realised – there is no turning back!
How I see the world.
The world of an artist is remarkable – you start perceiving beauty even in the most mundane and at first glance unremarkable things: a broken tree branch with its charming leaves, a puddle on the ground reflecting the sky and a nearby shrub, an ordinary stack of firewood.
Inspiration.
Traveling, you try to preserve the avid emotions stemming from the admiration of the old towns of the Provence, the carved balconies of Tiflis, the colourful houses of Murano, the pot-bellied streetcars of Lisbon, the turquoise tidal bore of Croatia – freeze frame! This is why I hold the Impressionist way of painting so dear and why I draw so much inspiration from their way of seeing and capturing the immediacy of a fleeting moment. This is how the ideas for the subjects of my paintings come to life.
An artist from Vienna
With my work, I am not so much interested in the interpretation the viewer may draw from the paintings, but am rather intrigued by the emotions and the nostalgia they may emanate. For me, the moods and emotions that linger in the viewers’ minds are the most vital elements of the creative process.
